| The direct running of Pat McCourt and - in the early stages – Kevin McHugh unsettled Rovers rejigged backline. By the time they had come to terms with it, McCourt had opened the scoring. Nonetheless, the Hoops gave an excellent account of themselves, creating plenty of opportunities, but lacking that killer touch in the box.
