Match Notes
Rovers dominated the opening half as they sought the win that would lift them into second spot, but they struggled to find a way past Pat Jennings in the Derry goal. Early in the second period some uncharacteristically slack defending allowed Sammy morrow to open his account for the Candystripes. There followed a fractious period which culminated in Sean Hargan seeing red just before the hour mark; within a minute the Hoops were level. Derry sat back understandably, but threatened on the break, while the hosts were unable to find a way past the excellent Jennings.
