Played his schoolboy football with Leeds AFC, from where
he joined Hull City. A tough opponent whether in midfield or defence; he was a
member of Brian Kerr’s UEFA U18 squad in Sweden. Has also been capped at U21
level. Joined Cork City in 1998, and debuted for the club at 17 years old, in a
Cup Winners Cup tie v CSKA Kyiv in August ’98. Also had a spell on loan at Longford Town, the former Rebels skipper joined Shelbourne in 2006, going on to collect
a second successive league winners medal with the Reds. Was released by the Toka Park outfit following their financial collapse early in 2007, subsequently signed for Derry City. Injury curtailed his contribution to the Candystripes ( 4 league apps. - 2 as sub), before he joined Galway United in July 2007, where he had by his standards a quiet season before returning on loan to Shels in February 2008.
That loan period ended in July of the same year before he secured a return to the Premier Division with struggling Cobh Ramblers. Shelbourne stats 2008: League apps. 9 (3) 1goal.
